Enjoy a special worship service led by our Music Ministry Choir! Both services are identical.
The Worship ministry of Emmaus Baptist Church is committed to proclaiming and displaying Jesus through music, video, and the arts. Our desire is to lead the congregation in praise that is passionate, authentic, relevant and expressive.
Come and join us as we lead worship in the weekend services here at Emmaus. We are open to everyone regardless of skill levels — there is a place for you in the Worship Arts. Contact David Hillis for more information.
Our Choir is open to anyone regardless of musical skill or experience and there are no auditions required for membership. Because of the important role that our Worship Choir has in the weekly worship service, we do request faithful attendance to the weekly rehearsals! We provide resources and training to help everyone feel comfortable with our group presentations.
Sundays, 6:00-7:15pm, during the Fall, Winter, and Spring. (No rehearsals in June, July or August) There are a few additional practices required for our seasonal performances of Christmas and Easter presentations.
Worship Leadership Schedule
On the Sundays we sing, we meet in the Choir room at 10:15am for vocal warm-ups and prayer before entering the Worship Center.
Each member must have functional knowledge of their instrument and be willing to devote personal time to practice in addition to the regular rehearsals. Auditions and interviews are required for participation in the Praise Band. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in auditioning and interviewing.
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm, during the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Our dedicated technicians coordinate their schedules to design and operate sound, lights and video for regular worship services and special events. Email email@example.com if you have audio/visual/lighting skills or are interested in learning more.
Our sound technicians are responsible for sound reinforcement. That is, making sure that everyone can hear what is being said, sung, or played—on stage and in the audience. There are plenty of knobs to turn and buttons to press and knowing which one, when and how much, requires skill and patience. We have set up the Audio Tech area with all the necessary tools and structure to make it user friendly. The sound crew is responsible for producing quality sound for worship (Sunday morning service as well as Sunday and Wednesday evening services), special events, and concerts.
Lighting operators control the house and stage lighting. They help control the focus of each element during the service, drama, or musical. We have many lighting fixtures and a programmable control system to operate them all. We also have a few intelligent lighting fixtures that are used for special effects. This group is involved with all services, musical productions, and concerts at the church.
Our Video team is responsible for the projection screens in the Worship Center and the TVs in the lobby. The techs that operate our Video pay attention to every word sung and spoken, in order to synchronize the slides with what the congregation hears. We also have cameras and a system set up for recording services to video and for playback of special video illustrations or presentations to enhance our worship times.
