History

June 5, 1983

Emmaus’ first service as a mission of First Baptist Church of Moore, Oklahoma.

December 7, 1986

Constituted as a church with Robin Butler as the first pastor. Emmaus was able to purchase land adjacent to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children in anticipation of Oklahoma City and Moore expanding southward and westward.

June 19, 1993

Mike Booth became the second pastor of Emmaus.

February 15, 2009

Moved into a new Worship Center and Ministry complex adjacent to the original facility.

August 2013 - May 2014

Emmaus hosted the faculty, staff, and students from Briarwood Elementary School, after that school was hit by a tornado on May 20, 2013.

March - May 2015

Emmaus hosted the faculty, staff, and students from Southgate-Rippetoe Elementary School, after that school was hit by a tornado on March 25, 2015.

November 1, 2015

Dr. Owen Nease became the third pastor of Emmaus.

2016

Emmaus is celebrating its 30-year Anniversary by remembering God's faithfulness and preparing for how He will work in and through us in the next 30 years.
